    Competition: The Sable (Martes zibellina) is listed as 'Least Concern (LC)' in the IUCN Red List of threatened Species. It is native to China, Finland; Japan (Hokkaido), Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Mongolia, Poland, and the Russian Federation. In Japan the introduced Japanese Marten (Martes melampus) competes with and is threat to the endemic Sable (Abramov & Wozencraft 2008).
