         Interim profile, incomplete information

         Location Specific Impacts:
    Anguilla English
Habitat alteration: Bothriochloa pertusa takes over areas in which it grows and prevents natural soil erosion (Anguilla National Trust, 2007)
Grand Terre Is. (New Caledonia) (New Caledonia (Nouvelle Caledonie)) English
Competition: Bothriochloa pertusa dominates the savannah areas at the southern end of New Caledonia (Spaggiari & Garine-Wichatitsky, 2006)
Île Matthew (New Caledonia (Nouvelle Caledonie)) English
Competition: Bothriochloa pertusa dominates the savannah areas at the southern end of New Caledonia (Spaggiari & Garine-Wichatitsky, 2006)
    Virgin Islands, USA English
Threat to endangered species: Bothriochloa pertusa is greatly affecting the 'Critically Endangered (CR)' endemic St. Croix Ground Lizard (Ameiva polops) on Green Cay, USA Virgin Islands. McNair and Lombard (2004) found that this endangered species was essentially absent from areas dominated by B. pertusa. It forms dense mats and shades out shrubs especially on the windward slopes. On Ruth Island, St. Croix, USA Virgin Islands, the same story is observed although to a lesser degree (McNair & Mackey, 2005).
