    Synonyms: Centaurea picris Pallas ex Willd., Centaurea repens L.
    Common names: hardheads (English), Russian knapweed (English)
    Organism type: herb
    Acroptilon repens is native to Mongolia, western Turkestan, Iran, Turkish Armenia and Asia Minor and is now present on every continent. It is severely invasive in Europe, USA and Canada. It is commonly found in cultivated fields, orchards, grain and alfalfa fields, pastures, along roadsides, irrigation ditches and in waste sites.
    Occurs in:
    agricultural areas, range/grasslands, ruderal/disturbed
