In the tropics and sub-tropics it is considered a very problematic weed for agriculture and animal husbandry. Occurs in: agricultural areas, natural forests, planted forests, ruderal/disturbed Geographical range Native range: West Indies and tropical America. Known introduced range: This herb is a widespread tropical weed (PIER, 2006).
