    Fuchsia boliviana is a small tree that develops rapidly. In tropical regions where it has been introduced (such as La Réunion or Hawaii), this plant tends to dominate native plant species. The dense foliage of large stands of Fuchsia boliviana intercept the light limiting the development of native understory species.
