    Organism type: tree
    Eriobotrya japonica has been introduced to warm regions as a fruit or ornamental tree. In various Pacific islands and La Réunion, it can be invasive in natural environments.
    Occurs in:
    agricultural areas, natural forests, planted forests, riparian zones, ruderal/disturbed
    Geographical range
    Native range: Native to Japan and China (Webb et al., 1988).
    Known introduced range: North America (California, Florida,...), Mediterranean (Algeria, Libya, Turkey, Spain, Italy, Portugal), Pacific islands, and Réunion island in the Indian Ocean (PIER, 2006).
