Reaching between 20 and 30 metres in height, its many fruits are actively spread by frugivorous birds. Schefflera actinophylla is capable of forming monospecific stands and is considered to be very invasive in tropical and subtropical areas. Occurs in: natural forests, ruderal/disturbed, urban areas Geographical range Native range: Native to Australia and New Guinea. Known introduced range: Introduced as ornemental plant in many countries. This species is very invasive in several Pacific islands : Pohnpei, Guam, Rarotonga, French Polynesia, Hawaii, Niue, Samoa (PIER, 2007).
