    Species Notes for this Location:
    Introduced into Hawaii from California, USA for fisheries. 181 individuals have been imported and released. Widespread and successful in reservoirs of Hawaii, Kauai and Oahu. Some spontaneous intergeneric hybrids between this species and Lepomis macrochirus have appeared in at least two reservoirs on Kauai island. (Ref: Maciolek, J.A., 1984, in FishBase, 2003)
