Cestrum nocturnum has been listed as introduced, invasive and cultivated on Viti Levu Island (Smith, 1991; in PIER, 2010). A survey of the vegetation found at the Monasavu water catchment on Viti Levu was carried out by Tuiwawa (2005). C. nocturnum was recorded there in 1977 and was still present in 2002, where the presence of cattle and horses contributes greatly to its spread and the spread of other invasive species (Tuiwawa, 2005).
