In some areas of south-east Queensland, C. parqui has formed reasonably dense infestations along degraded creekbanks, particularly in areas, grazed and damaged by cattle. This plant may be an opportunistic weed of degraded grazing land rather than a significant weed of bushland (Csurhes and Edwards, 1998) .
In Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria, C. parqui is a declared noxious weed due to its ability to invade agricultural land, and its known toxicity to livestock (Croft and Holding, 2004).
滋扰人类: Cestrum parqui is an escaped garden plant, which has become a weed of roadsides, creeks and neglected sites in central and south-east Queensland (QDNRM, 2005).
病原: The roots, stems and leaves of Cestrum parqui are toxic to many domestic animals (QDNRM, 2005).
