    Introduced to Nova Scotia from New Hampshire, USA for angling/sport. Introduced in New Brunswick (1921) and Nova Scotia (1925). Although the introduced species has provided potential trophy-sized trouts and added a diversity in the anglers' catches it also competed with the native salmonids in Nova Scotia.
