Location Notes: In the Gulf of Mexico drainages it is established in all five Gulf states (Courtenay et al. 1991. In Aguirre and Poss, 2000). Impacts: Modification of natural benthic communities: Cyprinus carpio stir up bottom sediments during feeding, thereby causing increased siltation and turbidity which is detrimental to other species.
