    Species Notes for this Location:
    Unsuccessfully introduced as a forestry species, as it failed to establish in plantations. Some trees survived however, and now form small scrub jungles. Within a period of 3 years A. mearnsii penetrated and spread over a 1 km² area in dense subtropical montane forest at Vattavada, suppressing native vegetation.
