    Melaleuca is listed as a potential invader on both the islands of Yap and Pohnpei, Federated States of Micronesia (PIER 2001, Sherly 2000, Space and Falanruw 1999, in Serbesoff-King 2003). M. quinquenervia occurs on a small area on Yap and appears to be spreading only slowly (PIER 2009).
