    According to The North European and Baltic Network on Invasive Alien Species (NOBANIS) database (2009) the Chinese mitten crab is rare in Norway; it is not established in the country and is described as potentially invasive. It was first recorded in the estuary of the river Glomma on the southeastern part of the Oslofjord and it is currently distributed in Oslofjord (Fredrikstad district). The Chinese mitten crab is transported accidentally and dispersed in the region via floating structures, ballast water or sediments in tanks.
