    Salmo salar is reported to occur in non-native areas of Maine (Fuller, 2009).
    Management Notes for this Location:
    Salmo salar fisheries must employ a containment management system to prevent the escape offish. Starting in May 2004, all Atlantic salmon placed in net pens must be of North American origin. The use of transgenic fish is prohibited (Naylor et al, 2005).
