    Competition: Murray and Ramey (2003) note that Cinnamomum camphora grows like a weed, infesting forests and displacing native trees.
    Other: LCD (2000) reports that the green fruits are high in chemicals known to cause sterility in birds. Cinnamomum camphora trees have been associated with fish kills and the absence of frogs in nearby wetlands.
