Impacts: Habitat alteration: The rabbit is co-responsible with the rusa deer (Cervus timorensis russa) for reducing the area of dry forest on the islet of Leprédour and the presumed extinction of the Pittosporum sp., which is endemic there (see Pittosporum tanianum in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species) (Bouchet et al., 1995). A few fruiting P. tanianum trees were rediscovered on the islet of Leprédour in 2003 following a methodical inventory. Threat to endangered species Last Modified: 24/04/2008 2:06:27 p.m.
