Details of this species in Midway Islands
    Status: Alien
    Invasiveness: Invasive
    Occurrence: Reported
    Source: Starr & Martz, 1999; PIER, 2008
    Arrival Date:
    Introduction: Unknown
    Species Notes for this Location:
Bothriochloa pertusa is occassionally found on Sand Island, part of the Midway Atoll. In the 1999 survey by Starr & Martz, B. pertusa was a new entry into the flora of the Midway Atoll, suggesting only a recent establishment. Here it was found in the mowed lawns on either side of the runway near the water catchment pond.
    Management Notes for this Location:
Ongoing monitoring is recommended for all islands of the Midway Atoll. The importation and landscaping regulations are also being revised to stop the introduction of harmful species that have the potential to spread and become management concerns. On Sand Islands, where Bothriochloa pertusa is found the USFWS is currently removing alien species and restoring native vegetation (Starr & Martz, 1999)
