Species Notes for this Location:
Mozambique tilapia (Oreochromis mossambicus) became established in the San Antonio River after escaping from a channel within the local zoo. Several hundred actively guarded and recently abandoned tilapia nests were discovered within the study area, indicating that the population is breeding very successfully.
Management Notes for this Location:
Competition: It is thought that competition by Mozambique tilapia (Oreochromis mossambicus) are affecting other species of fish.
