    Species Notes for this Location:
    Streptopelia decaocto, released in 1976 in Guadeloupe during the eruption of the Soufriere, was first seen in Martinique in 1994 (Barré et al., 1997).

    Since 2005, the species has been classified as game.

    Impacts:
    Competition: With the increase in the area of its distribution, it is likely that Streptopelia decaocto will compete with the native species Zenaida aurita.
    Hybridisation: Hybridization of Streptopelia decaocto with the indigenous dove Zenaida aurita is suspected.
