Status: Alien Invasiveness: Invasive Occurrence: Established Source: Smith et al. 2004 Arrival Date: pre- 1950s Introduction: Unintentional (accidentally) Species Notes for this Location: Gracilaria salicornia has been present on the Big Island of Hawaii (in the Hilo area, inside and outside of the break wall and in Kapoho Bay) since before the 1950s. It is possible that this Hawaii Island population was an early 20th century ballast introduction from ships originating from the Philippines where G. salicornia is native (I. Abbott, Pers.
