    此地点的物种说明:
Carpobrotus edulis has been used in California since the early 1900s to stabilize the soil along railway tracks and roadsides and as a garden ornamental. It has now naturalised and is invading coastal vegetation from north of Eureka to Rosarita Bay. It invades active and stabilised dune complexes, coastal bluffscrub, grassland and chaparral communities (D'Antonio, 1990a). There is evidence that the spread of C. edulis is increased following fire events in California (Zedler and Scheid, 1988). D'Antonio et al. (1993) report that it is abundant in burned maritime chaparral, though it does not invade mature chaparral in the absence of disturbance. The success of C. edulis in California may be at least partly attributed to the abundance of dispersers, mostly native mammals (D'Antonio, 1990b). The successful invasion of C. edulis in maritime chaparral is likely related to the use of these sites by deer which effectively disperse its seeds (D'Antonio et al. 1993). Mammals such as black-tailed jackrabbits (Lepus californicus) and mule deer (Odocoileus hemionus) also appear to prefer the fruit of C. edulis and hybrids to the native (or naturalised) C. chilensis in California (Vila and D'Antonio, 1998b).

    此地点的管理信息:
The California Exotic Pest Plant Council (CalEPPC) have placed C. edulis on their A-1 list (Grossinger et al. 1998).

Di Tomaso (2005) suggests planting alternative species to C. edulis in California - such as Delosperma cooper (hardy iceplant), Osteospermum fruticosum and hybrids (freeway daisy), Teucrium chamaedrys or T. lucidrys (wall germander) or Drosanthemum floribundum (showy dewflower).

    地点批注:
    影响:
杂交: Carpobrotus edulis hybridises with the native or naturalised C. chilensis in virtually all areas of sympatry in California. Intermediate plants have been shown to be more similar to C. edulis than C. chilensis, and have been shown to have fewer native plants growing in association with them than C. chilensis (Albert et al., 1997). Hybrid individuals can show higher clonal growth than parental types in some habitats (Vila and D’Antonio 1998c).
