Dr. Herborg's work on invasives species so far has included: analysis of their spread and dispersal, reproductive ecology, identifying transport vectors using mircosatellite DNA, and developing models of future dispersal, phylogeographics. He is currently working on modeling the potential spread of aquatic invasive species, combining environmental suitability and human transport vectors to spatially explicit predictions. This work is part of the National Risk Assessment of Invasive Tunicates in Canada. In the near future he is planning to conduct field studies into the transport vectors and impacts of tunicates on the Canadian west coast.
