    Senecio douglasii

Senecio paniculatus (syn. Senecio reclinatus), Senecio harveianus (syn. Senecio vimineus), Senecio douglasii and Senecio lautus do not occur in Europe and have not spread outside their area of origin (EPPO 2006b).
    Senecio harveianus

The identity of the plant in Europe has long been in doubt; it has been called Senecio harveianus Mac Owan (EPPO 2006b). S. harveianus does not occur in Europe and has not spread outside its area of origin.
    Senecio lautus

The identity of the plant in Europe has long been in doubt; it has been called quite erroneously Senecio lautus Solander ex Willd (Tutin et al. 1976, in EPPO 2006b). S. lautus does not occur in Europe and has not spread outside its area of origin.
    Senecio lythroides

Senecio inaequidens is unlikely to be confused with other Senecio spp. in its exotic range. It looks like Senecio lythroides an indigenous plant of the Western Mediterranean area.
    Senecio madagascariensis

Rzedowski et al (2003) discuss information concerning uncertainty of the identification of Senecio inaequidens particularly in connection with the use of the name Senecio madagascariensis. Senecio inaequidens De Candolle, Senecio madagascariensis Poiret and Senecio harveianus Mac Owan are three Senecio species growing in South Africa frequently confused by the botanists (EPPO 2006b).
    Senecio malacitanus

Senecio malacitanus can be easily confounded with S. inaequidens such that the first authors that found S. inaequidens in Europe identified it as S. malacitanus (Garcia-Serrano & Sans 2007).
    Senecio paniculatus

Senecio paniculatus (syn. Senecio reclinatus), Senecio harveianus (syn. Senecio vimineus), Senecio douglasii and Senecio lautus do not occur in Europe and have not spread outside their area of origin (EPPO 2006b).
