Bignonia capreolata
Bignonia capreolata has orange-red floral tubes while M. unguis-cati has yellow. Also, M. unguis-cati has hooked tendrils which B. capreolata lacks (FLEPPC, undated). Macfadyena uncata
While Macfadyena uncata bears a resemblance to M. unguis-cati, the former is found in low-lying swamps while the latter inhabits drier forests of generally greater elevation. Additionally, the leaves of M. unguis-cati have a faint, sweet odour (Woodson et al., 1973). |
